THE SHOW

The aim of the fashion show is to raise money for the Madagascar-based charity, Azafady and Build Africa, while creating a great opportunity for young, up-and-coming talent to showcase their work.

Our goal is to enable London’s young talent to create an Autumn/Winter collection where they can produce unique designs that reflect the endemic beauty and reflect the poor economic state of Madagascar in an urban context.

We have a Facebook Event page for the show or check us out on Twitter

Tickets are £15 for the good cause (guestlist only)

Two months ago, ten young designers were given a brief to each create an Autumn/Winter collection where they could produce unique designs that reflect the endemic beauty and reflect the poor economic state of Madagascar in an urban context.

The current economic climate has made us all that little bit more aware of how much it costs to live in the world today. But while our economy will recover, in other countries people constantly live with much less. Earlier this year architecture graduate Simon Walker, decided he wanted to do something about that. So he contacted the Malagasy charity Azafady and signed on for Pioneer Madagascar – a scheme that helps urban communities with a wide range of humanitarian, sustainable development and conservation projects.

According to Simon Walker “I wanted to do something that would bring my current world and the country that I was travelling to together.  I read that textiles make up 15 per cent of Madagascar’s burgeoning manufacturing export industry, so I started to talk young designers about my idea; a fashion show with a brief that combined the earthy colours of Africa with the current economic climate, while acting as a showcase for new design talent in the UK”.Come out and enjoy and evening of funky collections and great music while giving to charity and supporting the next generation of fashion designers.
